We are looking for an experienced APM/scrum master who will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating Agile project teams. The scrum master would work alongside a Back End Lead and a Front End Lead, overseeing their core team of developers. They would also collaborate with UX, Client Success, QA, and Visual Design throughout the life cycle of a project. Interacting and communicating with your clients would happen on a daily basis, so building a strong relationship with them is very important. This person would flourish if they are self driven, team-minded, and very vocal about ideas. The APM / Scrum master will have responsibilities including but not limited to:
Leading and managing projects consisting of multiple Agile teams that may require integration with other activities outside the scope of the Agile team, at an enterprise level
Project Planning and Management – Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value iteratively; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
Passion for making things better - At a team level, guiding teammates in the proper use of processes and tools; coaching members of the team as needed to optimize the efficiency of the project team
Flexibility - In situations that require a hybrid Agile approach, using good judgment and skill to develop a project management approach that is suitable for planning and managing the effort to achieve the project goals within designated project constraints
Team Building – promote positivity and empowerment of the team and with client interactions, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
Team Management – Assist in team development while holding team members accountable for their commitments, fostering participation and collaboration, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members
3+ years experience in a similar role; experience in similar industry preferred
Comfortable with being the point-person for client communication
Ability to manage competing demands
Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture”
Very familiar and experienced with Agile practices, customer service-oriented environments, and improving development practices
Genuine desire to enjoy your job, your team, and see your teammates as more than just "coworkers"
Sense of humor!
Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:
Agile Project Management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc.
Understanding of the fundamentals of iterative development, software development processes and procedures
Relevant certifications are preferred, but not required
